Dr. Valli Gambina FCA Sports Chiropractic Physician of the Year.

Dr. Valli Gambina is the 2003 recipient of the FCA Sports Injury Council's, Sports Chiropractic Physician of the Year. This award is given to a doctor who has contributed to the advancement of chiropractic in the field of sports medicine. Dr. Gambina is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College and served on faculty at NYCC from 1992 - 1994 in the fields of Diagnosis, Radiology and Orthopedics. She is a past winner of the prestigious Women of Distinction Award, and her office was nominated Business of the year in 1996 and 1998 from the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce in Venice, Florida.

Dr. Gambina has been very active in the FCA Sports Injury Council and currently sits on the board of directors. She is a member of the United States Sports Chiropractic Federation, the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS) and is an examiner for the Florida State Board of Chiropractic Medicine.
Dr. Gambina has been very instrumental in the ongoing relationships with the World Olympians Association (WOA), the International Softball Federation (ISF) and the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, which is Florida's only Community Olympic Development Program.

Recently, Dr. Gambina has been working with the WOA, spear-heading a campaign for the inclusion of chiropractic in the Polyclinics of the Olympics Games and developing a medical / chiropractic providership for members of the World Olympians Association. She is one a four chiropractors who diligently fought for our inclusion, as a profession, at the International Softball Federation Tournaments which include National and International Championships Games and Olympic Qualifiers for softball. Dr. Gambina has also been involved with the return of chiropractic physicians as providers for the Florida Senior Games and the Florida Sunshine State Games. She has served as Chef de Mission for the 2002 World Slow Pitch Softball Championships and the 2003 Junior Girls World Cup Softball Championship.

In addition to her role as a Board of Director, Dr. Gambina also serves as event coordinator for the FCA Sports Injury Council, the Council participates in approximately 10 large scale sporting events each year, providing sports injury care and chiropractic care to injured athletes ranging from little league games to elite International World Cups Games. Not only does she help organize the multi discipline team of sports physicians for these events, but she also volunteers many hours as an event physician.

On a hometown note, Dr. Gambina dedicates her time to local athletes; she works with the Venice High School athletes and the Special Olympic athletes in Sarasota County Florida.
